Georgia: Kartli
Perfect with seafood, white meats, salads, and lightly spiced dishes. Amber or skin-contact versions pair beautifully with roasted poultry, creamy pastas, or aged cheeses.

Goruli Mtsvane is an indigenous white grape variety from the Kartli region of central Georgia. Its name translates to “Green from Gori,” referring to both its place of origin and the greenish hue of its berries. Valued for its aromatic character and bright acidity, Goruli Mtsvane produces elegant, refreshing wines that reflect the cool climate and limestone soils of central Georgia.

  • Appearance: Wines made from Goruli Mtsvane are pale straw to light gold in color, deepening toward amber when produced in traditional qvevri vessels or with skin contact.
  • Aromas & Flavors: Expect vivid aromas of green apple, pear, and citrus blossom with herbal undertones and hints of tropical fruit. Qvevri-aged styles reveal layers of honey, dried apricot, and subtle nutty spice.
  • Style & Structure: Typically medium-bodied with firm acidity and a clean mineral finish. Stainless steel or oak-fermented wines emphasize freshness and aromatics, while qvevri styles offer greater texture, tannic structure, and earthy complexity.
  • Character: Goruli Mtsvane embodies balance and refinement—aromatic yet structured, lively yet composed. It represents the harmony between fruit purity and traditional Georgian depth, making it one of Kartli’s most distinctive white grape varieties.
