Learn More:

Georgia: Imereti
Ideal with seafood, salads, and light Georgian dishes like pkhali or khachapuri. The amber Qvevri style pairs beautifully with roasted chicken, creamy sauces, or aged cheeses.
Tsitska is an indigenous white grape variety from the Imereti region of western Georgia, prized for its natural acidity and freshness. Traditionally blended with Tsolikouri or Krakhuna, it also produces elegant single-varietal wines that reflect the cool, humid climate of its native hillsides.
  • Appearance: Tsitska wines are typically pale straw to light gold in color, gaining deeper amber hues when produced in traditional Georgian qvevri clay vessels.
  • Aromas & Flavors: Expect bright aromas of green apple, quince, and citrus, with floral hints of acacia and meadow herbs. Qvevri-aged versions develop notes of honey, nuts, and dried apricot, adding richness and depth.
  • Style & Structure: Light to medium-bodied with crisp acidity and moderate alcohol. In stainless steel or oak, Tsitska is lively and refreshing; in qvevri, it becomes fuller and more textured, showing fine tannic grip and minerality.
  • Character: Tsitska embodies purity and precision fresh, floral, and subtly complex. Its balance of bright acidity and delicate fruit makes it one of Georgia’s most elegant and food-friendly white grapes.
